This work explores a potential use of chalice of aguaymanto (goldenberry). This part of the fruit is not consumed and is separated from it before been exported. However the chalice contains several lipidic components that could be used, thus adding value to this waste. In this research we have studied the possibility of using the extract or aguaymanto chalice as natural moisturizer in cosmetic formulations. The chalices were collected in Huancayo and extracts were obtained. Then formulations of liquid soaps and body lotions containing the extract were prepared and moisturizing capacity of each one of them tested. We concluded that the addition or the extract of aguaymanto chalice increases the moisturizing characteristics of the products. As well as provide a sui generis fragrance.
